Beta — Subject to Change

PicoPixel is currently in beta. The platform is experimental and being used as a learning and development tool while we gather feedback and decide on the direction of the project. These terms may change significantly as the product evolves.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PicoPixel, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

PicoPixel provides a visual design tool for building embedded user interfaces. The service includes a web-based editor, code export features, and collaboration tools. The platform is currently in beta and is being developed as both a product and a learning exercise — features, availability, and functionality may change at any time.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

PicoPixel uses third-party OAuth providers (such as Google or GitHub) for authentication. If you need to change your account information — such as your name, email, or profile picture — you must do so through the OAuth provider you used to sign up. PicoPixel does not store or manage passwords.

4. Uploaded Content & Copyright

You are solely responsible for any content you upload to PicoPixel — including but not limited to images, fonts (.ttf, .otf, .woff files), icons, and any other assets. By uploading content, you confirm that you are the rightful copyright holder or have explicit permission to use and distribute that material.

We reserve the right to remove any content that we believe infringes on third-party intellectual property rights, and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate this policy.

5. Prohibited Content

You may not upload, share, or distribute any illegal, illicit, or harmful material through PicoPixel. This includes but is not limited to any form of abuse material, content that promotes violence or terrorism, and any material that violates applicable law.

If we discover or are made aware of such content, we will remove it immediately, terminate the associated account, and cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities.

6. Acceptable Use & Abuse

You agree to use PicoPixel only for lawful purposes. You may not use the service to infringe on intellectual property rights, distribute harmful content, or interfere with other users' access.

Any attempt to intentionally degrade the platform's performance — such as creating excessive files, projects, or requests designed to overload the service — will result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for any user engaging in abusive behavior at our sole discretion.

7. Intellectual Property

Your designs and exported code remain your property. PicoPixel retains all rights to the platform, tools, and underlying technology that are original to PicoPixel.

PicoPixel is built upon a fork of Penpot, which is licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 (MPL-2.0). Portions of the codebase that originate from Penpot remain subject to that license. In accordance with the MPL-2.0, some modifications, new features, and original code developed for PicoPixel are proprietary and remain private.

8. Limitation of Liability

PicoPixel is provided on an "as-is" basis. We make no warranties regarding uptime, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PicoPixel shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes.
